The Layla Necklace is handmade and designed by me, inspired by one of my favourite TV shows as a kid, The Winx Club. Crown Princess Layla (Princess Aisha in some versions) is the Fairy of Waves and one of the memebers of the Winx Club. I used crystals and gemstones to capture the essence of Layla in this necklace.
The gemstones I used are Peridot, the bright green color of nature, Peridot is associated with harmony, good health, restful sleep, and peacefulness. Known as the stone of compassion, Peridot calms anger by giving renewal to all things. I used Emerald which is known as a symbol of truth and love. In ancient Greece and Rome, Emerald was said to be the gemstone of the goddess Venus, purveyor of love and hope. And finally the Rose Quartz and the green centered Crystal Quartz are stones known as the most powerful healing stones of the mineral kingdom. I thought I would add their meanings in if you are a lover of crystals and gemstones or you would just like to know a little bit more about them. I also added two upcycled emerald coloured beads that were from my partners Grandmothers old jewellery to complete the Layla inspired necklace.
